# VMI Tracker (demo)

> Demo store for the VMI tracker, an AIPhoundry test product. Not for sale.

Your supplier sees the shelf before it runs out.

VMI tracker weighs each bin on a vendor-managed shelf, counts the pieces, and raises the replenishment order the moment a lane runs low. You and your supplier watch the same live counts. This page runs on synthetic test data: checkout is switched off and nothing ships.

This site works for AI agents as well as people. Everything below is public: no account or API key is needed to use it.

## Products

- [VMI tracker, 4-lane shelf kit](https://vmi.aiphoundry.com/api/store/products/prd_6gny2khvgwsktd0w): $449.00 (id `prd_6gny2khvgwsktd0w`). Demo: shown, never sold. One controller and four lane scales with e-paper labels. Each lane weighs its bin, counts the pieces and raises a replenishment order for its supplier when it runs low. LTE-M built in, Wi-Fi fallback. Service $12 a month per kit for data and the shared dashboard. Not legal for trade. SYNTHETIC demo: not for sale.

## Ordering as an AI agent

1. Check first: `POST https://vmi.aiphoundry.com/api/store/orders` with `{"product_id", "quantity", "dry_run": true}`. Nothing is written; the answer says whether it can be ordered now, the total in cents, and what stops it.
2. Place it: the same call without `dry_run`, with `email`, `ship_to` ({name, line1, line2?, city, region?, postal_code, country}) and an `Idempotency-Key` header. Retrying with the same key returns the same order, never a second one.
3. Pay without a person: add `"payment": {"token": "spt_..."}`, a Stripe shared payment token your user granted you for this seller. Without a token, the answer has `payment.checkout_url` for a person to pay.
4. Keep the returned `token`: `GET /api/store/orders/{order_id}?token=...` follows the order.

Limits for agents on this store: up to $500.00 an order, $2,000.00 a day in all, and 20 units at a time.

Payments are not switched on yet: orders can be checked with `dry_run` but not placed.

Every unit is built by the founder's manufacturer from a design revision that a named engineer signed off, locked to that revision when the order is paid.

## API

- [OpenAPI description](https://vmi.aiphoundry.com/.well-known/openapi.json): every public call, with its fields
- [MCP server](https://vmi.aiphoundry.com/api/mcp): Streamable HTTP; tools get_store, get_product, preview_order, place_order, get_order
- [Store as JSON](https://vmi.aiphoundry.com/api/store): the site and its products, prices in cents

## Optional

- Can I buy one? Not yet. This is a demo of the AIPhoundry flow with synthetic test results; checkout is off and no units exist.
- What does the service cost? $12 a month per kit from activation, for the LTE-M data and the shared dashboard. Cancel any time; the labels keep counting but stop sending.
- Can I see the dashboard? Yes. vmi-demo.aiphoundry.com shows one synthetic shelf of four lanes as the customer sees it, and as each of two fictional suppliers sees it (only its own lanes). The data is frozen and nothing is real.
- Who sees what? Your team sees every lane on your site. Each supplier sees only the lanes it stocks and the orders it has to ship.
- Can a supplier invoice from the counts? No. The tracker is not a legal-for-trade scale. Counts drive replenishment; invoices use the quantities the supplier shipped.
- What shelves does it fit? Steel and wire shelving 300 to 610 mm deep with a front lip, bins up to 170 x 300 mm, up to 10 kg a lane. Power from an outlet or 24 V DC.
- Where would it ship? The US only.
